Quality Y3-6 teaching in Aotearoa NZ is also essential, along with quality teaching in English-medium.
The position is for a 0.6 Y3-6 classroom teacher with capabilities in accelerating literacy achievement i.e. reading recovery trained.
You will be working one-to-one with students on a project to improve student learning outcomes in reading and writing and will monitor progress towards achieving the2025 Targets to Raise Student Achievement in Reading and Writing.
Responsibilities
Deliver literacy instruction to Year 3–6 students with a focus on accelerating literacy achievement.
Carry out one-to-one work with students on a project to improve reading and writing outcomes.
Monitor and report progress towards the 2025 Targets to Raise Student Achievement in Reading and Writing.
Qualifications
New Zealand registered teacher (Certificated).
Experience with literacy development; reading recovery trained is an asset.
Ability to teach in English-medium settings.
Experience in primary to intermediate (Years 1–8) education preferred.
Commitment to strength-based, high-excellence educational practices.
