- We have a full time, permanent opportunity for a
- Registered Nurse – Communicable Diseases
- to join ourCompliance and Health Protection, Waikato, Taupo team within NPHS.In this role, you will provide nursing input to the team to manage communicable diseases, including case and contact management, outbreak investigation and control, and support prevention.
This opportunity will allow you to lead or support upstream health promotion and disease prevention initiatives that enable individuals, whanau and communities to protect themselves from the impact of communicable diseases, with a particular focus on Pae Ora and achieving equity of access, treatment, and outcomes.
About the Service / locationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga / wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.This position is based in Kirikiriroa / Hamilton.
About youYou have proven experience as a Registered Nurse and can use your nursing knowledge and judgement to apply whanau-centered, holistic, innovative nursing care to meet the needs of patients, whanau and communities.You are also able to participate in education, quality assurance, and policy development.
A current Annual Practicing Certificate with the Nursing Council of New ZealandA relevant graduate qualificationExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionA clean and current Full New Zealand driver's licenseCompetent computer literacy including Microsoft packagesAt least one years' postgraduate nursing experienceCurrent authorised vaccinator status is highly desiredWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.We embrace a workforce that is diverse and inclusive so that we are better positioned to understand and service our community.
