Overview

Full time, Fixed term, Start Date : 28 / 04 / 2026, End Date : 03 / 07 / 2026 (Sabbatical cover).

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher.

Subjects : English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The arts.

Upper Atiamuri School is a vibrant rural full primary school located between Rotorua and Tokoroa.

We are seeking a passionate, NZ-trained teacher to join our supportive team for term 2,

• , to cover a sabbatical period while our Deputy Principal steps into the Principal role.

This is a fixed-term position teaching a Y5–8 class, working in a collaborative and caring environment where relationships, learner agency, and the joy of learning are central to everything we do.

Builds strong, positive relationships with learners and whanau.

Demonstrates sound classroom practice in literacy and numeracy within a structured, evidence-informed approach.

Enjoys contributing to a small, collegial team and rural community.

Location : Upper Atiamuri School, SH1, between Rotorua and Tokoroa

Requirements : NZ teacher with current NZ teaching registration and evidence of certification.
