Your primary focus will beapparel design, but you'll also bringa creative eye for graphics— steering freelance designers and artists to ensure trims, prints, and branding details enhance our collections and tell a cohesive story.What You'll Do : Apparel DesignDesignseasonal apparel rangesacross performance and lifestyle categories including outerwear, mid-layers, base layers, and accessories.Translateseasonal briefsinto functional, trend-aware designs that align with brand DNA and target customer.Develop detailedtechnical drawings, CADs, and tech packsfor development and sourcing teams.Research and applyinnovative construction techniques, materials, and trimssuited to merino and natural fibre performance wear.Work closely with theCreative Director, Product Managers, and Developersto ensure cohesive storytelling and commercial viability.Partner with theMaterials teamto select and brief fabrics, finishes, and trims that meet sustainability, performance, and aesthetic goals.Graphic OversightCollaborate withfreelance graphic designersto ensure seasonal graphics align with Mons Royale's creative direction and technical requirements.Provideclear briefs, feedback, and creative directionto external artists so graphics complement product storytelling.Review and approve graphic concepts, ensuring they areproduction-readyand suitable for performance apparel.Maintainbrand handwritingin trims, patches, prints, and labels so they work seamlessly with product design.Process & CollaborationManage the design process fromconcept through to production handover, ensuring fit, function, and style integrity.Present design concepts tointernal stakeholderswith clarity and creative vision.Collaborate cross-functionally withDevelopment, Marketing, and Salesto ensure product stories are consistent from concept to consumer.What You'll Bring4+ years of experience as anapparel product designerin performance, outdoor, or lifestyle apparel.Strong knowledge ofgarment construction, technical performance features, and natural fibre capabilities.Experience working withfreelance graphic designersand providing clear creative direction.Proficiency inAdobe Illustrator, Photoshop; experience withCLO3D or other 3D garment toolsa plus.Ability tobalance creative vision with commercial needs.A collaborative, detail-oriented approach andpassion for outdoor performance and lifestyle designSponsorship may be possible for the right candidate.Opportunity for GrowthMons Royale is a fast-growing brand in the action and adventure sports space with lots of opportunities for career development, within and outside NZ.Mountain town lifestyle and flexibilityWe are based in mountain towns because we value time spent in the mountains and want to enable and encourage our team to achieve a work / life balance.
