OverviewGo Eco Food Rescue drivers are on the road five days a week, picking up surplus food around Kirikiriroa and delivering to local Free Stores.Typical shiftEach day starts at our Frankton depot at 6 : 30am, before heading out on your route.
Drive our manual trucks and help load and unload crates and boxes of food.
Record rescue and redistribution data into our App (training provided).

Volunteers play a huge role in rescuing over 370,000kgs a year.RequirementsFull, clean NZ driver's license and ability to drive a manual.Comfortable being active and lifting up to 15kg.You'll need comfortable clothing and closed in shoes (hi vis provided).
Reliable and punctual – consistent attendance is essential for the Food Rescue program to run smoothly.Comfortable working as part of a small, hands-on team.Able to follow basic health and safety guidelines when handling food and using equipment.Enjoys practical, physical tasks and being on the move.Friendly and approachable, happy to interact with donors, recipients, and community centre staff.Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.A Police background check is required for this role.Time commitmentRun 1 : 6 : 30am – 11 : 00amRun 2 : 6 : 30am – 12 : 00pmNo minimum shift commitment - ideally, once a week or a fortnight.Getting startedThe first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below.
