Overview
Go Eco Food Rescue drivers are on the road five days a week, picking up surplus food around Kirikiriroa and delivering to local Free Stores.
Typical shift
Each day starts at our Frankton depot at 6 : 30am, before heading out on your route. Drive our manual trucks and help load and unload crates and boxes of food. Record rescue and redistribution data into our App (training provided). Return to the depot around 10.30am to clean down crates and prepare for the next shift.
Impact
Our Food Rescue service is our largest climate action project – rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste and redistributing it across the city every day. Volunteers play a huge role in rescuing over 370,000kgs a year.
