Job DescriptionPosition Overview : The Mechanical Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of skilled professionals to continuously improve and develop new TOMRA Food products providing technical knowledge and expertise to ensure our solutions are fit for purpose, market relevant and meet our customer's needs.This role combines expertise in mechanical engineering and knowledge of electrical and automation systems to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.This team lead will play a crucial role in overseeing projects, managing a team, and collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals.ResponsibilitiesLeadershipLead, mentor, and inspire a team of electromechanical engineersTake the lead in maintaining connections with the Electromechanical teams at TOMRA Food in other regionsEnsure the reuse of technology, processes, and tools whenever possibleProvide professional expertise and leadership in all elements of mechanical designLead cross functional workload and project planning for projectsMentoring and development of team members through project tasks, goal setting and performance reviewsDevelopmentDefine product scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management, product management and stakeholderDevelop best practices and tools for mechanical design and team managementDirect participation in future research planning and the decision-making process.

Key contributor to the development roadmapWork with project managers to develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documentsPlan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate toolsEstimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goalsEnsure effective mechanical + electrical design and product testing in-house and in the fieldEnsure designs and documentation meet appropriate compliance and regulationsMechanical Design and Electrical & Electronic TechnicalDesign and develop mechanical systems for TOMRA Food products providing strong capability in mechanical designKnowledge of electrical and automation systems, ability to specify requirements and integrate systemsKey component selection and designProvide management of mechanical design processes and designs to assembly and service technicians, electricians and sub-contractorsQualificationsAbout you : Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field7+ years' mechanical engineering background3+ years' experience leading a mechanical engineering team, preferably involving machinery, electrical systems and automationStrong technical ability in a senior mechanical engineering role with proven experience in developing cross functional products for global manufactureExperience with CAD software for electromechanical designKnowledge of PLC programming and control systemsFamiliarity with automation and roboticsIn-depth knowledge mechanical design principlesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with relevant industry standards and regulationsProven experience in leading mechanical engineering teamsStrong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectivelyStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work in an open office environment as well as industrial customer worksitesAbility to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30% of timeAdditional InformationWhy work for us : Birthday leave - have a day off on us!
