As a Speech Language Therapist, you will play a critical role in our region's Learning Support team by understanding the impact of children and young people's communication needs in the context of their home, education setting and community.We work to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent outcomes.

We strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for our students in our education system.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and address the impact of children and young people's communication needs in home, education, and community contexts.Work closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other specialists to support the development of speech, language and communication skills.Collaborate holistically as part of a trans-disciplinary team to support children with complex needs.SalarySalary range : $69,966 - $106,016 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver.
The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.QualificationsA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification meeting the requirements of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists' Association.Specialist knowledge of theory, research and practice related to speech-language development, learning and behaviour.Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information.Ability to coordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and teachers across diverse settings.Understanding and application of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.Ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.About our groupTe Mahau ¦ Te Tai Whenua is the key interface between Te Mahau | Ministry of Education and education providers.
