Au Mahi | What You Will Do

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to teach and conduct research in speech-language pathology.

As the successful appointee, you will develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Bachelor and Master of Speech and Language Pathology Programmes.

We particularly welcome applicants with teaching expertise in adult communication disorders and / or voice, though other areas of clinical strength will be considered.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, including course coordination, curriculum development, and postgraduate research supervision.

You may be actively involved in the development and delivery of online learning and blended teaching approaches.

You will be expected to lead an internationally recognised and impactful research programme that contributes to the School's reputation, aligns with the University's strategic goals, and attracts external funding.

A record of postgraduate supervision and a commitment to growing doctoral enrolments is essential.

Appointment at Senior Lecturer level will require a more extensive track record in research funding and publication.

You must have a PhD in speech-language pathology and be eligible for full membership of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association, or equivalent.

A PhD in speech-language pathology or an aligned discipline is required.

To be considered you will :

Demonstrate an understanding of, and experience in, delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed.

Provide evidence of reflective learning and continuous professional development.

Demonstrate expertise in speech-language pathology, including the willingness and / or experience to teach courses in adult communication disorders and / or voice disorders.

Demonstrate expertise in curriculum design, development and delivery for both on-campus and distance delivery.

Demonstrate an understanding of bicultural and multicultural issues in Aotearoa New Zealand's society, including a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi, and display a willingness to engage professionally with equity and diversity initiatives.

Provide evidence of a strong research programme in speech-language pathology.

Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, faculty and other stakeholders.

This role sits within the Academic Staff, Associated Staff and Academic Support Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies Lecturer $94,181p.a.

• $113,616p.a.

; Senior Lecturer $119,586p.a.
