We are seeking a passionate and dynamic teacher for a permanent, part-time position at Te Ara , our specialised educational centre.
Te Ara provides a focused, supportive, and restorative learning environment for a small cohort of secondary-aged students (up to 20 ākonga with 4 staff). We aim to support students in overcoming learning and / or behavioural barriers, equipping them with the confidence and skills to successfully return to mainstream schooling or transition to further education and career paths.
We are looking for an exceptional kaiako who thrives on building strong, positive learning relationships and empowering students to enjoy their learning journey. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the curriculum but must possess strong skills in teaching and developing engaging mathematics programmes .
Your practice will strongly align with our school values, particularly manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and valuing diversity . Utilizing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to meet the individual needs of these students is critical for our success. An interest in sports and physical well-being would also be an advantage.
