Te Kura o Hau Karetu is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and compassionate kaiako to join our vibrant learning community. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach in our Y4–5 class in Kura Auraki (English medium) and contribute to a kura that places the wellbeing, identity, and success of every tamaiti at the heart of its practice.
Te Ao Māori is an important part of our culture here. We are looking for a teacher who values and actively upholds te reo me ōna tikanga in their classroom, fosters strong whanaungatanga, and embraces our kura vision for culturally sustaining practice. Confidence in integrating Māori perspectives across the curriculum is important, and a willingness to grow in this space is warmly supported.
Our learners have a wide range of strengths and needs, so we seek someone who can create inclusive, responsive, and engaging learning environments. Strong behaviour management, a relational approach, and the ability to differentiate learning effectively will be important to your success in this role.
Te Kura o Hau Karetu is an IDEAL Structured Literacy school. Whether you are already experienced in Structured Literacy or new to the approach, we offer high-quality professional development and ongoing support to help you thrive.
If you are a reflective practitioner, a team player, and someone who brings energy, kindness, and a commitment to educational excellence, we would love to hear from you.
Come and join a kura where identity is celebrated, learning is purposeful, and every child is known, valued, and supported to shine.
