What You’ll Do
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Regularly ship robust, high‑quality features into production
- Review and debug code
- Understand and exhibit the company’s core values
- Communicate progress, blockers and risks
- Identify problems and risks in your own and others’ work; suggest design and approach improvements
- Contribute to refining engineering culture, policies and procedures
- Prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Take initiative to identify and / or fix issues before being assigned them
- Participate in recruiting new engineers (sales pitch, technical screens)
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Be highly aware of security and compliance ramifications (PCI compliance)
- Actively contribute to a Pushpay guild
- Design and architect high‑quality software
- Break down larger work into small, well‑scoped pieces for teammates
- End‑to‑end responsibility for features of increasing complexity
- Coach and mentor junior engineers to understand what they are doing and why they are doing it
- Involved in developing software and tooling (code, algorithms, designs, processes and practices)
- Work with Engineers, Quality assurance, Product and other parts of the business to review requirements and propose solutions, and provide input into those processes (including ideation, algorithms, processes and feature design)
