Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Apply principles and professional knowledge and judgment to plan and implement projects of reasonable complexity, with guidance provided by more experienced staff
• Produce conceptual and detailed designs, reports, proposals and specifications to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity
• Coordinate a small number of staff by assigning work and directing outcomes and verify work of other technical staff with advice from experienced specialists
• Provide technical expertise and advice to designers, engineers and sub‑consultants
• Build strong internal and external relationships and assist senior members of the business to secure additional business opportunities
• Maintain understanding of the industry, professional bodies, the Beca business and its clients, relevant standards and procedures in the discipline
• Obtain professional certification / registration and involvement with industry and professional bodies
• Work to achieve team goals through personal effort with regular attendance and effective contribution to team / project meetings
• Engage in the business and associated operations including budget and revenue expenditure and understand impact of work practices on the financial outcome of projects
• Consolidate and extend technical skills and show initiative in seeking learning opportunities
• Communicate positively and effectively ensuring that team members , Managers and clients are consistently well informed about progress and timelines
• Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, networking and consulting skills
• Seek specific and constructive feedback to ensure professional and technical development
• Other duties as directed
