3 Waters Senior Engineer

Overview

Fluent Solutions is looking for an enthusiastic, personable, practical and experienced Senior Engineer to work in our highly respected 3 waters and environmental engineering team based in either our Dunedin or Queenstown offices.

Fluent Solutions is a South Island-based company providing Civil and Environmental engineering services to many public and private sector clients regionally and throughout New Zealand. We are a group of experienced engineers and designers dedicated to career development and ongoing training for our staff.

We Will Need

• Excellent spoken and written English and ability to articulate issues and solutions to ensure timeliness of deliverables.
• Active listening skills - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
• Critical thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Experience in investigation, planning and design of water, wastewater and / or stormwater infrastructure.
• Contract management skills including cost estimating, tender and contract preparation, construction monitoring and commissioning.
• Ability to provide instruction to the CAD / 3-D modelling team on projects.
• Project management expertise including the ability to manage the programme budget and monitor expenditure.
• Experience with a range of clients from local authorities to private companies.
• Proven abilities across all stages of a project leading and mentoring junior engineers.
• A tertiary Engineering qualification.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in 3 waters engineering investigation, design and contract management.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) would be helpful.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Creative thinking to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.
• A collaborative and solutions driven persona.
