We're seeking a proactive and organised Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in Auckland working on our major project in Tonga.
In this role, you'll provide essential HR coordination and administration support to help deliver effective people processes across the region, this role will require travel to Tonga as per the project needs, but you will be based in our Auckland Head Office.
Fluency in Tongan and English is essential , as you'll be working closely with both local employees and international project teams.
Your responsibilities will include : Providing HR administrative and coordination support to the HR team and project managers.
Preparing employment offers, contracts, and onboarding documentation.
Assisting with recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and coordinating medicals and visas.
Supporting new starter inductions and ensuring all employee information and systems are kept accurate and up to date.
Maintaining personnel records, performance documentation, and HR databases.
Assisting with HR events, training coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.
Liaising with payroll and other departments to ensure smooth HR processes.
Promoting McConnell Dowell's values, professionalism, and high standards across all interactions.
About You Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline (preferred).
Minimum 2 years' experience in HR, administration, or coordination roles.
Strong communication skills in both English and Tongan (written and spoken).
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems.
Proactive, professional, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
A team player with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting others.
