The Commis Chef plays a crucial role in the kitchen team at Mr Illingsworth, supporting the smooth and efficient running of food preparation and cooking processes.
This is a part-time position working a minimum of 20 rostered hours per week.
Flexibility is key with the ability to be available for late night and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of dishes according to company recipes and standards
Preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
Monitoring inventory levels of kitchen supplies and informing seniors when stocks are low
Assisting in food presentation and ensuring that all dishes meet aesthetic standards
Contributing to maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment
Following all relevant health and safety regulations and practices
Collaborating with senior chefs to ensure timely delivery of high-quality meals
Adhering to portion control guidelines to ensure cost-effectiveness
What you will bring
Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety regulations
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Basic understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques
Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
A passion for food and a desire to develop culinary skills
