We are looking for qualified and experienced Construction Equipment Technicians to fill various vacancies throughout NZ, including in Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton.
About the company
This nationally represented, leading franchise organisation is a leading provider of construction equipment solutions, offering sales, service, and repairs for a wide range of heavy machinery.
They are committed to delivering high-quality service and ensuring their equipment operates at peak performance.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy construction equipment
Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel engines and related components
Inspect and test machinery to identify potential problems and ensure proper functionality
Utilise diagnostic tools and software to determine equipment issues
Conduct repairs on hydraulic systems, transmissions, and fuel injection systems
Maintain accurate service records and reports
Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely equipment availability
Provide recommendations for repairs and preventive maintenance schedules
Skills we seek
The preference is for Diesel Mechanics with proven experience on construction or earthmoving equipment but consideration will be given to those with mining or forestry equipment backgrounds.
Relevant automotive trade qualification
3 years of relevant hands-on experience
WTR endorsement and HT licence advantageous
Sound customer service skills
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy machinery
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
