At the heart of Saint Kentigern is a close-knit community of passionate educators, motivated students, and engaged families who all work together to inspire lifelong learning and meaningful contribution inside and outside the school gates.An opening has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate Classroom Teacher (Years 1-6) to join our team at the Boys' School.Key duties and responsibilities : Planning and Preparation – Design lessons and learning programmes that meet curriculum requirements, are age-appropriate, and cater for different learning styles and abilities.Feedback – Provide constructive feedback to students that encourages improvement and fosters self-reflection.Positive Relationships – Build respectful, supportive, and inclusive relationships with students.Collaboration – Work collegially with colleagues, leadership teams, and support staff to share best practice and contribute to whole-school goals.Curriculum Knowledge – Maintain a strong understanding of the curriculum and pedagogical developments.Parents and Whanau – Maintain open, respectful, and timely communication with parents / guardians about student progress, concerns, and achievements.Community Engagement – Participate in school-wide events, co-curricular activities, and initiatives that strengthen school–community links.Key skills and experiences : Registered NZ teacher with valid practicing certificateTeaching degree or equivalent education and / or experienceDetailed knowledge, understanding and experience of current teaching methodologies and assessment practicesAbility to relate effectively to young people, colleagues and other stakeholders with strong relationship management skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsPositive and collaborative team member, showing enthusiasm and commitment to promoting their faculties and respect to staffWillingness to uphold the special character and culture of Saint Kentigern and commitment to the co-curricular programmeStrong understanding of health and safety and committed to upholding and role modelling best practice.What we offer : Excellent facilities and learning spacesSubsidised Southern Cross healthcareAdditional week's holiday mid-yearSaint Kentigern allowance for co-curricular involvementHow to apply : If you are motivated by the prospect of being a part of a dynamic teaching environment and would enjoy the associated challenges of the role, we would be delighted to hear from you.To apply for this role, please include a covering letter and current CV stating all teaching subjects and at least the last five years of work history.
