Court Registry Officer, Christchurch District Court

Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? We have an exciting part-time opportunity for you to join the team at the Christchurch District Court as a Court Registry Officer, working 30 hours per week.

As a Court Registry Officer in our customer service hub, you will be the first point of contact for court users, providing empathetic and professional support in a dynamic environment. You'll work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including defendants, witnesses, family members, Oranga Tamariki, Lawyers, and Police Officers.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Customer Service – You'll be based in the court's public-facing service hub, assisting customers with a wide range of queries in person, by phone, and via email. Your role will be pivotal in helping people navigate the justice system with clarity and care.
• Case Management – Ensure files are accurate and up to date, with a strong focus on data entry.
• Court Taking – You will help facilitate the smooth operation of the Court, including introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Māori), working closely with them in the Courtroom and Chambers, managing jurors, and general administration of the Court.

Utu ā-tau / Salary

The remuneration band for this role is $59,729 to $80,794 – the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
