Together, we are creating a Treasury that is ready to lead New Zealand into 2040 and beyond.Korero mo te turanga | About the RoleOur Investment Management and Strategy team plays a critical role in shaping the Treasury's advice on infrastructure policy, balance sheet strategy, and the investment management system, ensuring that public resources are managed effectively to deliver long-term value for New Zealand.We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analyst to join our Investment Management and Strategy team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Investment Management and Strategy, you will work on developing the Treasury's medium-term advice on balance sheet strategy.This role will require collaboration across multiple teams within the Treasury, including Infrastructure Policy, Macroeconomics and Fiscal Policy, and the Budget team so someone who is able to connect the dots and look at the bigger picture would be perfect for the role.
ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality advice on balance sheet strategy, with a focus on medium-term planning.Work collaboratively across teams to ensure alignment of policy advice and strategic objectives.Contribute to the development of system-wide and strategic policy, leveraging your knowledge of the machinery of government.Prepare clear, concise, and impactful reports to inform decision-making at the highest levels including the writing of cabinet papers and communicating with Ministers.Engage with stakeholders across government, particularly in capital-intensive agencies, to ensure robust and practical policy outcomes.
