About the Role
The Wellington Central Community Mental Health Team has an
exciting opportunity for
an innovative new Matanga Tapuhi Nurse Practitioner (NP)
position or a NP Candidacy to registration for this area of practice.
About the Team / Service Location
Wellington Central Community Mental Health Team is a
multidisciplinary team supporting tangata whaiora in the Wellington
Community.
We strive to provide
assessment and treatment that fits the range of needs we encounter and develop
partnerships with the wider social sector.
Our base is located in Mount Cook / Newtown, very close to
central Wellington.
We share office space with the Wellington South CMHT, and
Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) is located on the floor below.
This
makes for a thriving, exciting work environment with staff across teams
mutually supporting one another.
We have a good working relationship with other
services in the local community, and we routinely work closely with NGOs and
primary care.
About you
Masters including or additional NP required practicum (60 credits).
Matanga Tapuhi NP Annual Practising Certificate with recent relevant clinical
experience.

We
are looking for a recognised advanced practice nurse that has a passion for
ongoing learning and the ability to adapt to work effectively with different
learning experiences.
You will need :in mental health and nursing
(minimum 3 years)
Nurse (RN) and a current practising certificate with no restrictions from
the NCNZ
level on the PDRP or Senior Expert pathway with at least three- four years
relevant expertise and working at an advanced RN practice level
Clinical Masters or the postgraduate courses to meet the requirements to
undertake the NP postgraduate practicum aligning to the national Nurse
Practitioner Training Programme (NPTP).
We

Professional and clinical support for NP Candidates that includes peer support,
professional supervision, clinical supervision and practice development
opportunities.
Note : If appointed
to the role and a current employee at Capital Coast and Hutt Valley Health NZ -
the Candidacy period will be a secondment.
