Downer's National Projects team has secured the Mid‑Block section of the Hawke's Bay Expressway, a key part of the RONS programme. This major infrastructure project will deliver the upgrade of the existing expressway to four lanes, alongside significant safety and resilience improvements. Downer will deliver the full scope of civil construction and pavement works in partnership with NZTA.

We're now inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Superintendents , Site Engineers , Project Engineers & Surveyors who are keen to be part of this landmark project, commencing in late 2025 to construct the first of several sections of the HBX.

Please note the successful candidate will either need to be based in the wider Hawke's Bay area or be prepared to relocate to the region. Any other arrangements can be further discussed.

What We're Looking For :

• Proven experience in large‑scale civil infrastructure or road construction projects
• Strong leadership, planning and stakeholder management skills
• A commitment to safety, quality, and collaborative project delivery
