We are seeking a Kaiawhina Kaitatu | Assistant Accountant in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington).
Full time permanent position, based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington)

This is Te Tumu Paeroa, guardian, support and advancer of the mana of Maori land everywhere.
Our role is to provide professional trustee services for Maori.
We do this by carrying out the terms of trusts and ensuring the whenua is protected and enhanced for future generations.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to launch your accounting career.
You will have the opportunity to work with a close knit and helpful team, plenty of hand's on, on the job learning, and support with your further accounting qualifications (CA).
Some of the responsibilities as part of this role include :
Invoicing and collecting non-property debtors for all funds
Identify issues and developing solutions related to accounts receivable activities and processes
Assist with year-end process and audit
Prepare and co-ordinate year end bank, share registries and solicitors confirmations.
Process receipts and payments for subsidiaries
Monitoring of daily general ledger transactions
Minimum 2 years' work experience in financial transactional processing
A tertiary qualification in Accounting – a degree or advanced progress towards a degree in Accounting.
Debtors / creditors knowledge
Good knowledge of accounting procedures
Strong computer skills in Microsoft office products
Strong written and verbal communication skills; to communicate with all levels of management and external parties
Team player with the ability to work independently
Pae Tahi- Te Whakahua
| A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Maori (essential).
Pae Tahi- No Ia Ra
| An understanding and living of Tikanga Maori on a day-to-day level, for example, the removing of shoes before entering a whare, washing hands at the urupa and not sitting on tables (essential)
