Position : Teacher Aide

Location : Wakatipu High School (Otago, New Zealand)

Start Date : 21 January

Hours : 31 hours 15 minutes per week (08 : 45 to 15 : 30 including a 30-minute unpaid break, Monday to Friday, term-time only)

Salary : NZ$

• per hour (Support Staff in Schools' Collective Agreement, Teacher Aide Salary Scale Grade BC4)

Key Responsibilities

Work with students (one-to-one or in small groups) who present with behavioural or learning differences, both in mainstream classes and off-site as required.

Support classroom teachers or off-site staff by working with targeted students in their mainstream class or off-site.

Use agreed strategies with off-site staff or classroom teachers to manage student behaviour.

Work with students and peers to boost learning, independence and social skills.

Liaise with the classroom teacher to ensure the best support for targeted students.

Perform other reasonably requested duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Outgoing, caring individual who can work calmly and efficiently with high-school students of all ages.

Experience working with children with behavioural and / or learning difficulties is desirable.

High standard of numeracy and literacy in English.

Must have New Zealand working rights.
