Allied Health Assistant

About the role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our team at Dunedin Hospital.

We are looking for a motivated and personable individual to support our patients' therapy and discharge planning alongside allied health clinicians in an inpatient setting.

You will work with, and under the direction of a diverse team, including :

• social workers
• speech and language therapists
• dietitians
• physiotherapists
• occupational therapists.

Please note that this role may require you to do some weekend work, so flexibility is essential.

About you

We are seeking a proactive individual with experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds.

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate :

• an outgoing and friendly manner, comfortable interacting with patients both in person and on the phone
• the ability to run groups or communicate effectively to audiences
• a positive team spirit and eagerness to learn new skills
• initiative and the ability to work independently
• basic computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• a clear understanding and demonstration of privacy boundaries.

You will need to be adaptable and flexible to work effectively with your clients and within a dynamic health environment.
