Veterinary Nurse

We are a supportive and dedicated emergency care team that supports over 45 shareholder clinics across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. The After Hours Veterinary Clinic operates during nights, weekends, and public holidays, delivering high-quality emergency and critical care to pets in need.

The clinic is equipped with a full IDEXX laboratory, blood gas, ultrasound, digital radiography, capnography, ECG, doppler. We use SmartFlow and Vision software - experience with these is a bonus!

About the Role

This part-time position offers an exciting and varied workload where no two shifts are the same. You\'ll be actively involved in all aspects of emergency nursing, with plenty of hands on opportunities to develop and extend your clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.

What we\'re looking for

• Has at least 2 years’ experience as a qualified veterinary nurse (Diploma or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology or equivalent)
• Is confident, compassionate, and detail-oriented
• Can work independently and handle the fast pace of emergency care
• Brings strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Has experience monitoring high-risk anaesthetics and caring for critical patients

This is a part-time position, including rostered weeknights, weekends, and public holidays.
