Pou Arataki – A Senior Teacher Bilingual Immersion Classes

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) Resource : kura tuatahi, Matauranga Maori.
Te Ahurutanga currently has 4 classes : 0-3 and 4-6.
Most children arrive with little Te Reo and progress to reasonable full Te Reo over the year.
This position is a Pou Arataki role in a whanau-based team of four teachers.
Two Pou Arataki teachers share equal responsibility for delivering bilingual immersion instruction across the 0-3 and 4-6 classes.

Responsibilities
Teach and support learning in 0-3 and 4-6 classes to develop students' Te Reo literacy and bilingual proficiency.
Collaborate with the other Pou Arataki and the wider team to plan, deliver and assess curriculum aligned with Maori and New Zealand standards.
Create a culturally responsive learning environment that values tikanga Maori and promotes Te Reo usage.
Qualifications
Teaching qualification and registration with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.
Ability in Te Reo Maori and strong knowledge of tikanga Maori.
Experience teaching in a bilingual immersion setting is preferred.
