We are offering both permanent and fixed-term roles in the Dunedin Office, Invercargill Office and Cromwell Office (Southern Lakes Centre).

Part time roles available in Cromwell and Dunedin Office - permanent (0.5 FTE) Dunedin Office and fixed term (0.3 FTE) Dunedin and (0.6 FTE) Cromwell

As an Early Intervention Teacher, you will play a critical role in our region’s Learning Support team by :

• Providing high quality learning support in line with the Ministry’s practice framework He Pikorua guiding principles, strands, and goals of Te Whariki : Early Childhood Curriculum, and Te Whariki a te Kohanga Reo.
• Building and strengthening the capability of those who are best placed to support children’s’ learning such as parents, teachers and whānau | families.
• Understanding the families’ needs, collaboratively planning, supporting, and monitoring the implementation of intervention plans.
• Supporting transition points in the child’s learning pathway, such as transition into early childhood education and to school as required.
• Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child’s needs are complex.

Salary range : $69,966 - $106,016 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

Learning Support is a critical part of the Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua Group in the Ministry. We ensure that children and young people with additional learning needs are supported to achieve their full potential through education. Our Learning Support specialists work closely with families, whānau, caregivers, schools and early childhood educators in English and Māori medium settings and other agencies to help maximise learning outcomes and promote social inclusion.
