Your day-to-day would look like
- Acting as the trusted advisor and subject matter expert on pricing, rating algorithms, and rating engines.
- Developing and maintaining pricing models using actuarial and statistical methods to support data-driven decision-making.
- Maintaining and optimizing data automation processes for Tower’s pricing and underwriting data.
- Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying pricing opportunities to enhance profitability and customer outcomes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align pricing strategies with broader business objectives.
- Leading pricing and rating projects or serving as the pricing lead in Agile squads to deliver enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Mentoring junior team members, offering technical guidance, conducting peer reviews, and sharing best practices.
- Writing, troubleshooting, and testing sophisticated code to support pricing and modelling functions.
- Managing data models, implementing risk controls, and ensuring robust testing governance and cross-team training.
In your first 6-12 months, success will look like :
Establishing yourself as a go-to expert in pricing and rating, with strong stakeholder trust and engagement.Delivering enhancements to existing pricing models and contributing to the development of new ones.Improving automation and data workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy in pricing and underwriting.Identifying and executing pricing opportunities that positively impact portfolio performance and customer outcomes.Successfully leading or contributing to key pricing initiatives within Agile squads.Supporting the growth of junior team members through mentoring and technical leadership.Demonstrating strong coding capabilities and contributing to the robustness of pricing systems governance frameworks.Embedding best practices across teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.To thrive in this role, you'll need :
A minimum of 4-5 years in a structured general insurance pricing roleProgress toward actuarial certification preferredPrerequisite : Relevant tertiary qualificationDesired : Tertiary qualification in either Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or MathematicsWell versed in R (or Python).Geospatial skills in ArcGIS / QGIS would be a plusExceptional analytical / data analysis skillsWe invest in you.
