Join us on Duncraigen Farm as a Stock Manager.
You will work closely with a supportive Farm Manager in planning and executing farming operations and pasture management to optimise and improve operational processes and animal performance.
You will be working within a high performing team of four who value communication and collaboration.
You will enjoy variety in your work, as your days could include anything from livestock management, managing shepherd workloads and balancing feed budgets along with the responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely stock data records and reporting, and managing farm data records in Farm IQ.
Your knowledge in growing young stock, best practice animal health standards and feed budgeting will be highly valued.
Farm
Just fifteen minutes from Manapouri, Duncraigen Farm is an
Duncraigen Station operates as a stud farm, home to an Angus cattle herd and a Romney sheep flock.
These provide all bulls and rams to Pamu properties across the South Island, forming the foundation of the farm's breeding system.
Complementing the stud operations is a commercial breeding and finishing enterprise.
We have just invested in Halter virtual fencing collars on all incalf cows to increase efficiency.
The station follows an all-grass wintering system, with no reliance on cropping; however could go back to some winter crop in the future.
Supplements are produced and utilised on-farm to support livestock over the colder months.
About You
Bring your can-do positive attitude and broad farm experience to this varied role, along with :
A full team of working dogs
Proven experience self-managing your time
Tractor operation experience
A current NZ drivers' licence
Experience organising staff and contractors
An understanding of feed intakes and feed budgeting
Hands on experience with electronic farming tools and digital technology
