We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst / Technical Business Analyst to join the OrbitRemit team in Wellington, NZ. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing business within a friendly, cross-functional team environment.

What you will work on
- Collaborate with the data team to build semantic data models using a modern BI abstraction layer.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Looker dashboards and reports to support business decisions.
- Conduct detailed data analysis to generate actionable insights for product improvements.
- Perform data validation and ensure data integrity across key datasets.
- Assist in implementing data governance and privacy practices.
- Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide ad-hoc data support to marketing, product, and compliance teams.
What you would need to know
At least 2 years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or similar role.Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and proficiency in SQL.Experience with modern BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).Experience with semantic data modeling layers; prior LookML experience is preferred but willingness to learn is acceptable.Understanding of data governance and privacy standards.Proficiency in English as a working language.Nice to have
Experience with BigQuery.Knowledge of persistence strategies or experience implementing them.Familiarity with ETL / ELT tools like Dataform or DBT.Relevant tertiary qualification (Business, Statistics, Computer Science).Knowledge or experience in data engineering.Skills in Python or R for data analysis.What we offer
