Management Accountant

Overview

NZX owns Smartshares (Smart), issuer of Smartshares Exchange Traded Funds, and manages the SuperLife KiwiSaver scheme.

NZX also provides wealth management services for New Zealand advisers via its Wealth Technologies business.

As a Management Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting financial decision-making across NZX subsidiaries.

You'll produce accurate financial reports, conduct performance analysis, and provide strategic insights to business units.

This role blends technical accounting expertise with strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Produce accurate financial reports and conduct performance analysis to support financial decision-making across NZX subsidiaries.

Provide strategic insights to business units and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Interpret operational activity and translate it into financial impact, ensuring projections are aligned with business realities.

Qualifications

Experience preparing monthly management accounts with a good understanding of cost allocation, budgeting, financial modelling and performance analysis.

Experience in preparing financial statements, board papers, and statutory reports in line with regulatory and organisational standards.

Ability to interpret operational activity and translate it into financial impact, ensuring projections are aligned with business realities.

Are CA qualified or working towards this qualification

Have a tertiary qualification in accounting or finance

2-4 years' experience in a corporate finance environment, ideally with exposure to financial markets.
