As a general hand, you will receive training to work on and alongside ships, handling the loading and unloading at your local port.

Additionally, for the right candidate, there will be opportunities to train on operating machinery over time.Specific ResponsibilitiesNo previous port experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training.

This role includes (but is not limited to) slinging logs, lashing / securing project cargo, and other related tasks involving manual handling, marking logs, and operating small wharf forklifts.

Some heavy lifting is involved, and we work 12-hour shifts, so candidates must be able to handle outdoor work.RequirementsValid NZ Drivers license.Right to work in New Zealand.Care about health and safety for yourself and others.Must pass Ministry of Justice check, ACC check, Medical and a drug and alcohol test.
