For this role travel may be required at times to Ashburton however it is based in Timaru.The Whanau Intervention Practitioner – Tane Ora roles are crucial in providing support to men who are seeking positive life changes, helping to prevent further family violence and guiding them towards positive pathways.Kaimahi in these roles will build strong, trusting relationships with tane and their whanau, co-facilitating Kaupapa maori based programmes that support tane to reflect, heal and develop new behaviours grounded in accountability, respect and growth.Skills and experienceExperience working with at-risk men and whanau support, social work, mentoring, or related roles.Understanding of Te Ao Maori and tikanga, and experience working with diverse communities.Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of client records.Passion for creating positive change in the lives of perpetrators, victims and their whanau.Alignment to He Waka Tapu values and core principles and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Benefits and perksOngoing professional development and trainingLife InsuranceOur CultureWorking together for the wellbeing of familyOur services are delivered using a kaupapa Maori framework encompassing Tinana (physical well-being), Wairua (spiritual well-being), Hinengaro (mental well-being), Whanau (family well-being).
