OverviewThe Warehouse Newmarket is seeking a friendly and efficient Self Checkout / Checkout Team Member to join our retail team on a permanent part-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service whilst operating both traditional and self-checkout systems.ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist customers in a friendly and professional mannerOperate traditional checkout tills and oversee self-checkout areasProcess cash and card transactions accurately and efficientlyProvide guidance to customers using self-checkout systemsEnsure the checkout area is clean, tidy, and well-stockedHandle customer queries and resolve issues promptlyMaintain a thorough knowledge of store products and promotionsCollaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak timesAdhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelinesHours of workFridays & Saturdays - 4 : 00 pm to 9 : 00 pmQualificationsExcellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanourStrong cash handling abilities and basic maths skillsProficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systemsKeen attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekendsPhysical ability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 15 kgPrevious retail experience, particularly in a checkout role, is desirable but not essentialAbility to work well in a team and independently when requiredStrong communication skills and a positive attitudeTa Matou Tapaetanga – What We OfferTeam Card : Access to discounts across our brands.Birthday Leave : One paid leave day per year.Here for Good Leave : One paid leave day per year to do good in your community.Career Progression : An excellent stepping stone into other internal opportunities.Plus loads more!
