Role purpose
The Freight Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all domestic and international freight operations for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, covering both imports and exports. This role ensures that freight activities are cost-effective, reliable, and aligned with business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end global freight operations (air, sea, and road).
- Lead a team of three direct reports, setting clear objectives and performance standards.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure optimal service performance.
- Drive cost optimization and service improvement initiatives across all freight functions.
- Track and report freight KPIs, cost performance, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with customs, trade, and transport regulations.
- Collaborate with finance and supply chain teams on budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement.
Accountabilities
Oversee overall freight operations (air, sea, road) and ensure alignment with business objectives.Lead the freight team and vendor relationships to maintain high service levels.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency across freight functions.Monitor freight performance metrics and total freight spend; contribute to cost optimization projects.Ensure regulatory compliance with global trade, customs, and transport rules.Collaborate with finance and manufacturing for budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.Benefits
