Au Mahi | What You Will Do

You'll join an agile team working on one of UC's high-profile mobile projects, developing with React Native and modern cloud services.

We are seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to be part of our team, alongside experienced colleagues who have delivered high-impact local and international projects.

Our work is focused on improving the UC experience for both students and staff.

You''ll contribute to design sessions, write high-quality, well-tested code, and help build innovative software that follows best practice coding standards.

This role is also about growth.

You have commercial software development experience and are ready to take the next step in your career by contributing to a high-profile project at UC.

As part of an agile, collaborative team, you''re adaptable, enjoy solving problems alongside others, pay attention to detail, and communicate clearly.

You can work independently when required, but also thrive in team design sessions and code reviews.

For this project, it will be an advantage if you bring experience in some of the following :

Mobile or web development with React Native or React

Front-end development with React and TypeScript

Back-end API development with Node.js

Cloud services (e.g., serverless functions, container apps, monitoring)

Source control with Git and CI / CD pipelines (build, test, deploy)

Writing and maintaining automated tests — including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests

Microservices and asynchronous event-based programming

Applying Domain Driven Design principles

DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices

Integration with internal and external systems
