ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Senior Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated Hospital Team at our SPCA Christchurch Centre.

Fixed-Term- Full-Time

32hours per week - with a weekend rotation of 1 in 6 weekends

Reporting to the Head Veterinary Nurse, this role is all about ensuring the animals in our care receive the highest standard of medical treatment and compassionate care.

You’ll be responsible for :

• Providing exceptional veterinary nursing support for medical and surgical patients
• Coordinating daily hospital activities and ensuring efficient, safe animal flow
• Mentoring, supporting, and training staff, students, and volunteers
• Ensuring high standards of animal welfare, safety, and documentation
• Supporting veterinarians with assessments, treatment, and follow-up care
• Promoting Fear Free and species-specific care practices
• Contributing to continuous improvement and hospital process development
