Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and self-motivated, full-time Research Assistant for a multi-disciplinary project.

Successful candidate will manage laboratory operations on a project involving advanced research techniques in dental biomaterials, dental stem cells, tissue engineering, 3D imaging, and image analysis.

Responsibilities

Hydrogel and bioink formulation for cell culture and dental tissue engineering–related applications.

Independently and collaboratively manage the optimization, development, and characterization of hydrogels.

Conduct confocal microscopy and immunostaining for high-resolution imaging and detection of specific proteins in dental / oral cells and tissues.

Culture and conduct 2D and 3D assays using primary cells (oral keratinocytes, fibroblasts, dental stem cells, endothelial cells), and / or bacteria.

Conduct a variety of molecular assays, histological, and 3D imaging-based assays.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with safety and ethical guidelines.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and assist in the preparation of research reports, grant proposals, and publications.

Identify and coordinate with external vendors for procurement of laboratory consumables / equipment, and associated finance processes.

Closely interact with team members for management of laboratory safety standards and audit requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's / Master's degree in Dentistry or related field.

Working experience and proficiency in hydrogel formulation.

Proficiency in biomaterial characterization using various mechanical and imaging-based assays.

Proficiency in cell culture and handling of primary cells and dental stem cells.

Proficiency in molecular biology, cell viability / cytotoxicity, immunostaining, and confocal imaging techniques.

Strong organisational, literature review, administrative, and problem-solving skills.

Be proficient in the preparation of research reports and publications.

Highly self-motivated, ability to work both as part of a team and independently with excellent presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal in English).
