At the start of the rotation a range of training opportunities, such as Newborn Life Support and introduction to acute paediatric care, are offered with Senior House Officers receiving instruction and support from senior staff.There is an opportunity to sit for the Diploma in Child Health making this an excellent placement for RMOs interested in paediatrics as a career.
Additionally, there is a well established pathway for those ready to transition into a Registrar training position.
This rotation also provides valuable paediatric experience for those pursuing careers in General Practice, Emergency Medicine, and other specialties.About the Team / Service / LocationThe 5 Paediatric Senior House Officers work as a team with 5 Registrars, a Paediatric Fellow, and 9 Specialist Consultants.Our department is fast paced and offers substantial exposure to a broad range of paediatric cases.
Our Paediatric Team is supportive and cohesive and dedicated to the professional development of RMOs at all stages of their training.
