He Puna Waiora meaning "a pool of wellness" is a 40 bed Adult Acute Inpatient Unit.
The unit was been designed to provide a high level of flexibility in the use of acute beds.
There is a number of sensory & comfort rooms with multiple lounges, relaxation and programme spaces for service users.About youWe are looking for enthusiastic and caring Mental Health Care Assistant to work with service users experiencing acute mental health problems.You will be confident relating to, and dealing with people who can at times demonstrate difficult or challenging behaviours.
Therefore, having good verbal communication skills, being calm under pressure and demonstrating resilience is essential.It is also important that you have enthusiasm for working within mental health, are self-motivated, energetic and have a positive attitude.PreferredNational Certificate in Mental Health or equivalentPrevious experience in mental health care or care givingAbility to identify own stress / coping mechanismsFor a copy of the position description, please click here .
