We are searching for highly skilledand passionate NZSTA registered Speech-language Therapists (SLTs) to join our HaumanuReo ā-Waha Speech-language Therapy (SLT) team working with adults in the acutesetting.
We are a dedicated Speech-languageTherapy team working to provide high quality evidence based clinical care andinnovative practice in a fast-paced tertiary acute care environment.Ourteam provides services to all clinical areas in the acute hospital setting,including but not limited to; general medicine, general surgery, respiratory,stroke, neurology / neurosurgery, orthopaedics, acute spinal, cardiology, cardiothoracics,ORL / head & neck cancer and critical care.
The Speech-language Therapy serviceoffers a supportive team environment with experienced colleagues and a widerange of opportunities for continuing professional development. Instrumentalswallowing assessments, including cough reflex testing, videofluoroscopy (VFSS)and Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) are embedded in ourdaily practice and there are opportunities to upskill and further develop inthese areas. Speech Language Therapy service delivery is also supported with the integration of a SLT Kaiāwhina (Allied HealthAssistant) in the team.
Applications from clinicians with an interest andexperience across any clinical areas within an adult acute service are welcome,however we are preferably seeking clinicians with experience and skills in;oncology / radiotherapy, head and neck cancer, critical care, neurology orneurosurgery. Skills in tracheostomy management and instrumental assessmentincluding FEES and VFSS are highly desirable.
We have a 0.4 FTE fixed term role, covering parentalleave, available until 7 th June 2026. We also have permanent hours equivalentto 1.1 FTE / 44 hours per week available, with consideration of either onefull-time (1.0 FTE) or two part-time appointments. All roles are availableimmediately. Please clearly indicatewhich hours (permanent / fixed term, FTE) and clinical areas you are interestedor have experience in .
