Dynamics 365 CE / Power Platform Solution Architect

Due to growing demand in our DXC Practice for Microsoft we are looking for a hands‑on Solution Architect who can span functional consulting, technical engineering, and solution architecture for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform—with a clear mandate to embed AI to accelerate delivery and improve business outcomes. We are open to either a contract or permanent engagement and are open to Auckland or Wellington locations.
Responsibilities
Functional leadership (CE)
- Lead discovery workshops, process mapping, and requirements grooming; turn business outcomes into epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Define to-be processes across our customer engagements; design intelligent case management, knowledge, entitlements, SLA / KPI models, and omnichannel scenarios.
Technical delivery (Power Platform + CE)
Design and build Dataverse data models, model-driven and canvas apps, Power Automate flows, and Power Pages; oversee plugin / PCF development, JavaScript, and server-side extensions.Plan and execute data migration (staging, cleansing, mapping, cutover) and integration patterns with Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management) and M365 / third‑party systems.Implement robust security (environment strategy, Azure AD roles, Dataverse security roles, field-level security, data loss prevention policies).Architecture & best practices
Own the reference architecture (scalability, availability, resiliency, security, performance), NFRs, and traceability to design decisions.Establish ALM with managed solutions (solution segmentation, layering, patches), environment strategy (dev / test / preprod / prod), and branching / pipelines with Azure DevOps and Git.Stand up or mature a Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) : guardrails, DLP policies, environment provisioning, monitoring / telemetry, maker enablement, and operational governance.Define quality gates (coding standards, automated tests, peer review, secure design, performance baselines) and lead design reviews.AI Responsibilities
Embed and extend Copilot experiences : Integrate AI-driven capabilities into CE solutions and design conversational bots to enhance self-service and streamline delivery.Apply Generative AI across delivery : Use AI to accelerate requirements analysis, solution design, testing, and content creation while ensuring responsible adoption and governance.Must haves
7+ years implementing Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform, including at least 3 years in solution / technical architecture roles.Proven end-to-end delivery across discovery, design, build, test, cutover and hypercare in complex, enterprise environments.Expert in Dataverse modeling, solution design, managed solution ALM, Azure DevOps pipelines, and environment topologies.Hands-on with plugins / PCF, JavaScript, integration patterns (REST / Dataverse Web API), and Azure integration services.Practical experience applying AI / Copilot / Copilot Studio or Azure OpenAI to either customer-facing use cases or delivery accelerators.Confident communicator with C‑suite and technical teams; able to lead workshops and make principled architecture trade-offs.In alignment with our commitment to fostering a flexible and dynamic work environment, we have adopted a hybrid working approach that acknowledges the importance of in-person collaboration while recognising that the determination of your work location will be based on a range of factors to ensure both individual preferences and operational requirements are met.
