About the Role
As a PatientSupport & Security Worker, you will ensure that we continue to provide a welcoming and safe environment forthe Emergency Department Wairau Hospital, at times you will be requested towork within departments and wards to keep patients and staff safe.
As aPatient Support and Security Worker you will focus on working with staff tobest meet the needs of patients and their whanau accessing our services.
As this is a casual position, there areno fixed / guaranteed hours of work.
However, the more available you are the moreshifts you'll be offered.
No on-call is required.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in NewZealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.

About you
As a PatientSupport & Security Worker, you will be :
the typeof person who works in a rational and calm manner,
someone whohas the skills and experience to effectively de-escalate difficult situationsand promotes a safe and therapeutic environment,
able torelate well to patients and their visitors,
able towork with the clinical team and follow directions.
Previous experience in security, or arelated industry is preferred.
However, this is not essential as training willbe provided.
Additionally, you will have :
empathy and a non-judgmental attitudetowards patients and members of the public
the ability to relate with ease topeople from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds
the ability to recognise and pass onissues that may affect patient welfare
a good level of physical fitness andmobility.
