Senior Associate – Climate Resilience
Join Beca to apply for the Senior Associate – Climate Resilience role. We are looking for a dedicated climate risk & adaptation consultant to help clients enhance their resilience.
Responsibilities
- Make a difference by providing climate risk and adaptation consulting services that elevate climate change considerations, supporting clients in understanding and reporting enterprise‑ and project‑level risks.
- Work across a variety of climate resilience projects and client sectors, elevating climate risk considerations across infrastructure, local and central government, and the private sector.
- Lead risk assessments, adaptation plans, scenario planning and innovative techniques using desktop risk management frameworks or spatial tools.
- Coach junior staff, facilitate workshops and prepare high‑quality reports.
- Partner with clients to develop robust, pragmatic solutions, translating complex issues into simple language.
- Leverage network to pursue new opportunities and grow Beca’s climate resilience offering in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific.
- Participate in cross‑functional teams, contributing to business strategy and testing new ideas.
Qualifications
Relevant experience :
Technical leadership in climate adaptation or climate risk initiatives in New Zealand or the Pacific (or a relevant market).Ability to engage clients, grow services and successfully win project commissions.Recognised expertise and network within the New Zealand or Pacific climate advisory market.Willingness to travel within New Zealand and internationally periodically.Experience leading and coaching junior staff; ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, often remotely.Strong problem‑solving, self‑directed, critically minded attributes.Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, planning, finance, economics, business, statistics or other climate resilience disciplines.About Beca
