Marina View School is seeking a positive and practical person to fulfil a fixed-term position as an English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) teacher in a large primary school environment.
Key responsibilities will include :
Oversee the assessment and funding processes for English Language Learners, including maintaining and submitting ELLP documentation
Refine and enhance the existing ESOL programme, ensuring English language learners remain at the heart of all decisions
Actively teach ESOL groups, delivering engaging, targeted instruction that fosters confidence and measurable progress
Support staff professional development, building teacher capability in supporting multilingual learners across the curriculum.
The ideal candidate will have :
Proven experience working with ESOL learners at the primary or intermediate level
Strong knowledge of the ELLP framework and effective assessment practices
Recent New Zealand classroom experience and curriculum knowledge
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
This position is a part-time, fixed-term position 4 days per week.
