A successful candidate will demonstrate :

A background in ESOL teaching and a sound understanding of English language acquisition

Knowledge of the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) framework

Experience in administering NCEA Unit Standards for ESL students, particularly those focusing on literacy and bilingual support

A commitment to collaborative teaching and learning across curriculum areas

Experience and ability to work with and support Maori and Pacific akonga, and learners from diverse cultural backgrounds

A commitment to the development of literacy and numeracy within a subject context

The ability to build strong relationships with akonga, whanau, and colleagues

Proficiency in another language, such as Vietnamese or Mandarin, would be an advantage

All members of our teaching staff also serve as learning advisors, supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
