Genetic Pathologist positionNew Zealand's leading provider of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine ServicesFull time permanent role (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week)About the RoleWe are looking for a Genetic Pathologist to join our Diagnostic Genetics team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with NZ's largest and highly specialised hospital-based laboratory service.

The Diagnostic Genetics service is undergoing significant expansion and this role will contribute to the provision and development of both germline and somatic genomic services.

The preferred candidate will be highly motivated, innovative, adaptable and responsive to the changing demands and opportunities in genomics.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.The overall aim of this role is to enhance health outcomes for people in the Auckland region through clinical and laboratory practice, teaching, supervision, research, service and leadership.Opportunity to be part of the Auckland Academic Health Alliance; a partnership between Metropolitan Auckland Health Boards and the University of AucklandThe Diagnostic Genetics department has established links with the University of Auckland and there will be an opportunity to be involved in research and teaching.For those candidates also interested in an academic role with the University of Auckland, a 0.4 FTE position at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences will be advertised in parallel.About youYou need to be a medical doctor with post-graduate specialist qualifications in Pathology and eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand as a Pathologist to apply for this role.
