Job descriptionAble to lift 40 lbs. without assistance. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards. Cleanroom : no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc. allowed. Fluctuating temperatures (hot / cold), loud noises (equipment / machinery). Office environment with PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.) required. Standing for full shift; strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.). Will work with hazardous / toxic materials. Perform daily production activities following defined procedures. Maintain cGMP and ISO standards. Perform manual handling tasks and operate various machines. Communicate production issues to supervisors. A science-related qualification is optional. Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential, as on-the-job training is provided. Good mechanical proficiency. Strong attention to detail. Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Work in a critical hygiene environment. Capable of manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 20kg. Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials. Join Thermo Fisher Scientific at our Penrose facility, producing world-class cell culture media and freeze-dried powder products under the Gibco brand, used globally in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Role
We are seeking a Process Operator / Manufacturing Technician to join our Biomanufacturing Unit. You'll process animal blood-derived material into sterile liquid and freeze-dried products. This is a full-time position that rotates between afternoon shift and night shift based on business needs.
- Afternoon shift operates 9 : 00am to 5 : 30pm, Monday to Friday.
- Night shift operates 2 : 30pm to 1 : 00am, Tuesday to Friday.
