The Role

We are seeking a highly autonomous Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the growth and optimisation of the AWS infrastructure supporting our ecosystem. As the main owner of our platform infrastructure, you will be at the heart of our technical operations, taking charge of our existing systems with the freedom to architect and implement significant improvements.

• Architect and Own AWS Infrastructure : Take full ownership of design, deployment and management of the Basis cloud ecosystem on AWS, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and cost‑effective.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Lead our IaC strategy by building and maintaining clean, reusable, and robust Terraform modules for all cloud resources.
• Manage Container Orchestration : Administer and scale Kubernetes clusters (EKS), managing lifecycle of cluster components, networking and containerized workloads.
• Implement Cloud Security : Work with our security architect and engineer to implement cloud security best practices, including managing IAM roles and policies, network security (VPCs, security groups) and data encryption.
• Drive the Infrastructure Roadmap : Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, technical debt and areas for improvement. Develop a forward‑looking roadmap to keep our platform scalable and resilient.
• Contribute to CI / CD Pipelines : Work with backend engineers to improve continuous integration and deployment pipelines, empowering them to ship software rapidly and safely.
• Develop the Observability Platform : Build and manage the core observability stack, providing tools and frameworks that engineers use to instrument applications for monitoring, logging and alerting.
